My name is Anna McCain and I'm so excited to be opening a preschool in my home! I live simply & practically and love teaching kids how to learn through reading, exploration and positive reinforcement.

I have been married to my husband for just over 30 years. We have 4 amazing children who taught me to love parenting. Along the way, I have also learned to live simply and appreciate all that God gives me. I want to share my love for life with preschoolers and help prepare them for their amazing futures!

I was born and raised in Mesa and graduated from Mesa High School in 1990. I met my husband at church in 1992 and together we've raised our four children.
My training has come mostly from being a mom and my interest in, and love of, positive parenting. In the past I have worked for Mesa Public Schools, a Montessori school, and several years of in-home daycare.

My goal is to help support moms who need a few hours a week and would like their preschooler to learn from a wide variety of options, while keeping Christian-based learning at the center.

Reading books exercises the brain!
For 90 minutes of the day we will work on letters, reading (and being read to), sounds and other traditional schooling. We will spend the rest of the day exploring supplementary areas of learning and Montessori-style stations. Some days will also include: exercise, music, crafts and science, along with many others.

Ms. Anna is an absolute rockstar! She brings incredible energy to class everyday. My daughter learns letters, numbers, and all of the valuable early lessons she needs in class, with a lot of fun mixed in. I could not say enough good things about our experience and would recommend Ms. Anna to anyone!

Miss Anna is the sweetest and most thoughtful! My daughter is always talking about all the things she learns from being in preschool with miss anna. I’m so amazed at how well she knows her letters and how well she can write them.
We are so grateful for all the fun crafts and activities miss Anna plans for these kids- she really does go above and beyond!! She sends us pictures every day, I’m so glad we’ve documented these special years of our kids. We will always have a special place in our heart for Miss Anna. She has made my daughter’s preschool years the best, EVER!

We absolutely have loved having our daughter attend Practical Learning Preschool. It’s been her first time in any sort of school environment and Anna has made her feel so comfortable. Anna provides the kids with so many crafts and games that they can do on their own which makes learning so much fun. We are so happy with how much our daughter has learned from Anna both socially and educationally. Ms. Anna has the most amazing, child-focused preschool program in the East Valley! Not only is she affordable, but she loves your child like they are her own. My son has gone to her for two years now. He was always scared to go to preschool before he went to her class, and his speech and social delays didn’t help either. She worked with him at his level that she teaches with patience and love. He has built so much confidence and just read his first word the other week thanks to her! I can’t rave about Ms. Anna enough, you won’t regret sending your littles to her!!

I was nervous about putting our daughter in preschool. She is our youngest and we had never done preschool before with our previous children. My daughter was really attached to being with me. I was worried that she would not like it, or cry everyday. Mrs. Anna made her and I feel so comfortable. She has a very special way of connecting to the kids and making each one feel comfortable. The first day of preschool she was so happy and loved going every day. She would talk about all the things she learned and songs she sang. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is wondering or on the fence about preschool. Mrs.Anna is the best!
